Cartoon Heros

Over the years, since cartoons and comics first started there has been a multitude of heroes.
In the 1980's a number of cartoons were launched to help promote lines of toys. As of the 1990's, the same could also be said of cartoons created to promote computer game characters.
Whatever the reasons behind their origins, they are still cartoon superheroes.

Mighty Mouse

Mighty mouse cartoon super hero
Izzy Klein originally proposed a character called Super Fly, but Terrytoons boss Paul Terry didn't like that idea, and vetoed it. A little later Terry took the same basic idea, changed it to a mouse, and passed it off as his own, original idea. The character was originally called Super Mouse, and his costume was initially very similar to Superman's, even down to the colour scheme (it would eventually change to the yellow version at a later date). Super Mouse's first cartoon was prepared for theatrical release for October 1942, but before it was released (and during the production of the second story), it was discovered that an ex-Terrytoons employee had gone to work for Nedor Publishing Co., which was now about to publish it's own Super Mouse comic, due out with an October cover date too. Rather than promote another company's character, Paul Terry decided to change the Terrytoon character's name to Mighty Mouse. The first cartoon however ended with the narrator saying "Thus ends the adventure of Super Mouse...he seen his job and he done it!", although they would later redub the name on re-release.

He got into the comics in 1945, in Terrytoon Comics, which went through a variety of publishers. He got his own title in 1946, which ran until the 1960's. In 1990 Marvel published a short lived series for him.

Some of Mighty Mouse's early cartoons were operas. He is also one of the few superheroes to be nominated for an Oscar, for the cartoon Gypsy Life in 1945. Terrytoons sold it's library to TV in the fifties, and Mighty Mouse became the first cartoon character ever to appear on Saturday mornings, appearing on CBS on December 10th 1955 as part of "The Mighty Mouse Playhouse" (which ran for eleven years, which broke another record - it's the longest lasting Saturday morning cartoon series). Through this run his voice was provided by Roy Halee.

He's been through a range of cartoons and production companies since then, but it wasn't until Ralph Bakshi did a version in 1987 that Mighty Mouse gained a secret identity (Mike Mouse) and a larger supporting cast than just his girlfriend (Pearl Pureheart was joined by Scrappy, for example).

Thanks to Neil Beck for identifying his home town.

Chuck Turai remembers a slightly different origin for the character: "there was another version where he was just a mouse and he gained his powers by taking vitamins starting with Vitamin a then b.c.etc until he reached the final jar which was a large jar labeled XYZ, when he emerged from jar XYZ he was Mighty Mouse." At this time I'm unable to confirm if there are two versions of Mighty Mouse's origin or not.

Conan’s superhero gets his own cartoon, action figure

Conan O’Brien was excited Monday to discover that the superhero he created with DC animator Bruce Timm, dubbed the Flaming C, has been animated into Warner Bros. cartoon Young Justice.

What’s more, custom designer and toy sculptor Paul Pape has created an action figure for the Flaming C as well. Pape has stated on his blog that he shipped the figure to O’Brien’s studio with the hopes that it may wind up in the late night talk show host’s hands.

O’Brien’s crime fighting alter ego sports a belt to hold his blackberry, a steaming oven mit on one hand and a jai alai glove on the other, fishnet stockings, socks with garters and loafers. On his chest, the emblem of a flaming letter “C.”

SAN RAFAEL, CA UNITED STATES

First Indian Production Acquired by Nickelodeon

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., June 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK) today announced that one of India’s leading animation studios - BIG Animation, a Reliance ADAG Company - used Autodesk Maya software to animate the magical worlds of the new “Little Krishna” animated series. The company relied on the Autodesk Smoke and Autodesk Flame systems for finishing and final output of the 13-episode program. “Little Krishna” is a joint production between The India Heritage Foundation and BIG Animation, and marks the first time that Nick International (Nickelodeon) has acquired a series produced in India.

“The best animation talent in India has grown up using Autodesk Maya,” explained Ashish SK, CEO of BIG Animation. “Since Maya is our 3D platform we’re able to recruit the industry’s top artists. Maya is our lifeline for production. As well, product interoperability and the excellent support we receive from Autodesk are some of the main reasons we continue to rely on Maya, Smoke and Flame.”

A family-friendly entertainment series, “Little Krishna” unfolds the chronicles of a beloved prankster and his metamorphosis into India’s legendary heritage character. More than 300 characters are featured in the series. BIG Animation relied on its Maya-centric pipeline to efficiently build, animate and manage the signature characters and detailed scenery that make this program unique.

“Maya software’s flexible architecture enabled us to overcome the challenges posed by large amounts of facial animation, secondary cloth and jewelry animation, and complex particle and environmental simulations such as water, fire and tornadoes,” continued Ashish SK. “We used Maya nCloth for clothing and the new Maya Muscle system for character rigging. The Geometry Point Cache system also helped reduce time and errors, and allowed lighting artists to work with files that already had surface data incorporated into animations. Python scripting opened up a new level of interactivity, letting us script and develop our own crowd simulation tools.”

For “Little Krishna”, the design team at BIG Animation thoroughly researched stylistic aspects of the land of ‘Vraj’ in Northern India, where these stories were situated 5,000 years ago. The team researched backgrounds, art direction, color keys and all other elements, in order to have countless references from which to determine contemporary styling. It was essential to convey not only the endearing nature of Krishna in the physical embodiment of the animated character, but also the authentic colors, flora and fauna of the Vraj region. Every time Krishna plays his flute, his surroundings react and move to the music.

“Smoke and Flame were key finishing tools that allowed us to recreate the vegetation and color palette unique to Vraj,” Ashish SK said. “As well, the seamless metadata exchange between Smoke and Final Cut Pro served us well in post-production.”

BIG Animation completed the series - from ideation to script to screen - in three and a half years. In this time, the team grew from 45 to 280 people. The series debuted on the Nick Channel in May 2009 and is currently one of the two top-rated children’s programs in India.

alice in wonderland

Alice in Wonderland is a production of Walt Disney's animated film, adapted from Lewis Carroll's story, titled Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. Animation is a series that the 13 from Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The film was released in New York City and London on July 26, 1951, which is distributed by RKO Pictures. Voiced by Alice is Kathryn Beaumont (who also voiced Wendy Darling in the next animated series, entitled Peter Pan), and Ed Wynn serves as the voice of the Mad Hatter. The film supervised by Walt Disney, which is known as one of the best works of the Disney studio in the history of animated films, though many are not good criticism of film critics from the United Kingdom.Tak feel the time has rolled out quickly. Alice (Mia Wasikowska) now aged 19 years and who could forget all the adventures he experienced as a child. Alice will not remember if it was not coming anymore adventure to him right when he was at a party.
Alice, who was in a party suddenly realized that he would soon be spoken for before the visitors party at that time. Feeling unprepared to face it, Alice was trying to escape. While trying to escape this is Alice meets the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), who led her into a hole that turned out to go to Wonderland.
After the death of Alice ten years earlier, there was a coup. Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) managed to take over power from the White Queen (Anne Hathaway). All the inhabitants of Wonderland can only wait for the right time while preparing to seize back power from the evil Queen.
Back to see Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry), Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Matt Lucas), March Hare (Noah Taylor), Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and Caterpillar (Alan Rickman), the memory of past Alice went back. Alice now become hope all residents of Wonderland who has long lived in the pressure.
The story of Alice's adventures in Wonderland is not a new story. Lewis Carroll wrote this story in 1865 and after over a hundred years, this story still be one of the stories are quite interesting. Actually to be honest, the story of Alice in Wonderland is not purely a story for children. Written by Lewis Carroll's story is too 'bleak' for the size of a small child. Many metaphors are not going to understand young children and it seems that Tim Burton wants communicated this time.
The first step is to make a play version of this classic tale and make it more acceptable to the current generation. Alice made more mature character and is no longer the children as in the original story. After the team selected quality actors and actresses such as Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Helena Bonham Carter complete with special effects experts and the production is equally andalnya. After the all clear, then Tim Burton free to express its interpretation of Wonderland or here called Underland.
The result is not gloomy Tim Burton films before but quite able to visualize the world of Wonderland who have been there in the mind of Lewis Carroll. Depp as usual did not have a problem with the characters 'odd' sort of Mad Hatter, but it seems this time that stole the attention it is Helena Bonham Carter who played as the Red Queen.

Terminology
While the "anime" in Japanese refers to all animation production, the English dictionary defines the word as a Japanese style of animated film. The word anime is said to have descended from French dessign anime claiming that it was used as shorthand for the 1970s. The word "Japanimation" is also in vogue in the 70's and 80's and called anime produced in Japan.
At first cartoon to use as models or studies for a painting. Derived from the "cardboard" word meaning strong or heavy paper, which is described by great artists such as Leonardo da Vinci. During the turn of the century, the term cartoon away from its original meaning and is used excessively to determine the image of humor with the title or dialogue.
There should be no distinction between anime and cartoons. Anime is the term used by Japanese to refer to animated cartoons, from their own country and from others as well. Somehow, then the world started using the term anime in reference to Japanese cartoons exclusively. Japanese animation was once called japanimation, but this term began to disappear when the term 'Bollywood' which began to be used. While the cartoon is more identified with the animations made in America.
Differences Between Anime and Cartoon
Judging from the visual characteristics
Anime seem ludicrous illustration of the physical features of the animation. One can distinguish anime by observing the physical features of the characters include the shape big eyes, big hair styles and long legs, etc..
While the cartoon looks a little more realistic than the anime and has a similarity to humans that can be seen in many cartoons. But, for animated cartoons often deviate from reality as Marge Simpson's hair.
Facial expressions to different forms of anime characters with western animation. For example, the character of embarrassment or stress produce large sweat-drop (which has become one of the most well-known motif of conventional anime.) Characters that shocked or surprised or when making a "face fault", in which they display an extremely exaggerated expression. Angry characters may exhibit a "vein" or "signs of stress" effect, where lines representing prominent veins will appear on their foreheads. Angry women will sometimes summon a hammer out of nowhere and attack the other characters with it, especially for animation in the form of comics. Characters that childish taunt someone might pull a "akanbe" face by pulling a lower eyelid with a finger to expose the bottom of the red.
One piece
Anime vs. Cartoon Animation Techniques
Anime places emphasis there is on the achievement of three-dimensional views. Backgrounds depict the atmosphere of the scene '. For example, anime often puts emphasis on seasonal changes, as can be seen in many anime, such as Tenchi Muyo!.
Subject Matter
Cartoons are usually intended to encourage laughter, so that revolves around the concept of funny. There are several educational concept cartoons in nature but still maintain their entertaining qualities that are generally targeted for infants and children.
But in the anime movie, do not follow the general concept. Their stories ranged from pirate attacks for the adventure of humor to the stories of the samurai. There are a lot more variety on offer and their respective creators ensure that the characters and their stories is different from others.
examples
Death Note, Naruto and Vampire Knight is an example showing the famous anime. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Bugs Bunny and Superman cartoons are examples.
The following is a summary of the difference between anime and cartoon covers advantages and disadvantages of each - each:
Anime
Pros:
1. More friendly with a brain Indonesia
2. The story is more varied as, drama, suspense, horror, action, philosophical, social criticism there Sampi
3. The character who made a more traditional and primitive example phantom, a ghost or a ninja
4. The story is complicated sometimes tend to kink intriguing
5. Character relatively more cool, because of the character to dress those figures who made more imajintif.
6. fantasy and the story feels really usually about friendship and unyielding spirit.
7. engineering drawings are usually more like a sketch ... (sometimes there are comics who just need a outline drawing talaga. rich doraemon, sinchan, etc.. It does not require engineering perspective, so it looks like a regular picture)
- The characters if not cool / beautiful, definitely weird / unik...bandingikan Sailormoon as one piece
- The story is more varied and technical drawings are also sometimes berbeda2, in accordance with their respective level of comic stories (anak2, adolescent, adult or humor, horror, love stories, etc.)
Disadvantages:
1. Usually the full story (like soap operas) are fun and a bit of meaning which can be taken from the story.
indeed now been switched like that, but long before any U.S. anime master American cartoons have mastered not only Japan, the whole world instead, Osamu Tezuka and many "elders" 2nya anime have said they took inspiration from Disney et al, so if you talk about international terms as a whole, clearly America> Japan, although Japan has begun to be recognized now catch up slowly.
American Cartoons
Pros:
1. are fun really, but ... more didactic and the story ga all the way from the story of everyday life (whether it be satire or a cause-effect actions that will be done)
2. More okay Graphics
3. Engineering drawings are usually more detailed, (example: if the image is usually not only advance image outlinenya course, there are shadow lines that define the face shape characters) if the composition of the color is only black and white, usually more inclined to black (black color composition more)
- Character and the look on his face is made as realistic as possible, even if there is a strange character, surely it does not make a normal human race (if not an alien or mutant monsters yes.) And that's with a normal level of weirdness (still a bit unrealistic)

- stories tend to impress the dark (war, mystery, comedy Cenderungnya if sarcastic), because it seemed realistic, so if there is a scene of war / fight / murder made possible serealistik
Disadvantages:
1. People's lives - people there. the story is more mature and much twistnya.
2. Try it we compare the same image 3Dnya Barbie Final Fantasy VII, where good? ... whereas the same process is time consuming and a budget that is not too different. Moreover, if Americans make a 3D cartoon human gambarin ga '"HUMAN" really, whether it was dented on top, legs that are not proportional, body is also a ga' humane, and the last is the way human objects moving from one place to another is less flexible (once again liat aja barbie)

Final Fantasy VII Barbie
3. American cartoon story about comedy, superhero.
4. More important story and alien technology
Even the Americans were already aware of it, so they started to make a story detrimental to anime2an, Avatar and Marvel mangaverse for example ..
While the anime? Stay with growing wild with his own way, after all anime in Japan has become part of the Japanese public life generally, while the cartoon in America, was received by a limited circle alone

POPEYE-CARTOON

Popeye the Sailor is a fictional hero notable for appearing in comic strips and animated films as well as numerous television shows. He was created by Elzie Crisler Segar,[1] and first appeared in the daily King Features comic strip Thimble Theatre on January 17, 1929. Popeye has now become the strip's title as well.
Although Segar's Thimble Theatre strip, first published on December 19, 1919, was in its tenth year when Popeye made his debut, the sailor quickly became the main focus of the strip and Thimble Theatre became one of King Features' most popular properties during the 1930s. Thimble Theatre was carried on after Segar's death in 1938 by several writers and artists, most notably Segar's assistant Bud Sagendorf. The strip, now titled Popeye, continues to appear in first-run installments in its Sunday edition, written and drawn by Hy Eisman. The daily strips are reprints of old Sagendorf stories.
In 1933, Max and Dave Fleischer's Fleischer Studios adapted the Thimble Theatre characters into a series of Popeye the Sailor theatrical cartoon shorts for Paramount Pictures. These cartoons proved to be among the most popular of the 1930s, and the Fleischers—and later Paramount's own Famous Studios—continued production through 1957. The cartoons are now owned by Turner Entertainment, a subsidiary of Time Warner, and distributed by sister company Warner Bros. Entertainment.
Over the years, Popeye has also appeared in comic books, television cartoons, arcade and video games, hundreds of advertisements and peripheral products, and a 1980 live-action film directed by Robert Altman starring comedian Robin Williams as Popeye.

The most information I could find about Louis Zukor was in an animation union newsletter obituary on him.

'LOU ZUKOR died on March 16, 2004 at the age of ninety. From 1930 until his retirement in 1984 he worked for Romer Grey, Mintz, Screen Gems, Iwerks, Lantz, Fleischer, Famous, Hanna-Barbera, Animation Associates and Filmation.

We have lost an icon of the animation industry. Lou was a close friend of mine. He was a veteran who went from the days of Gulliver's Travels and Mr. Bug Goes To Town, to more recent TV cartoons such as Archie and He-Man. Lou aslo worked on hundreds of TV commercials, and on titles for The Carol Burnett Show, The Sonny and Cher Show and others. Lou was a producer of a cartoon called Q. T. Hush, that showed on the Sheriff John TV show in the late 'sixties. Producing, animating, directing, painting backgrounds ... Lou did it all.'

I assume that Zukor made the trek to New York in 1938 to work on Gulliver's Travel's and continued on working for the Famous Studio until sometime in 1946. His work at the Fleischers was primarily for Orestes Calpini's crew and when the switchover was made to Famous, he animated primarily for Graham Place's crew.
